Introduction to Konsole

The Konsole package is a KDE Frameworks-based terminal emulator.

This version of BLFS may not build or run some packages properly if LFS or dependencies have been updated since the most recent stable version of the System V books.

Installation of Konsole

Note

In non-Plasma environments, the konsole scrollbar and its handle do not display well. This can be fixed by applying the following patch if desired: 

patch -Np1 -i ../konsole-adjust_scrollbar-1.patch

The patch makes the scrollbar light gray with a small white border. The handle is dark gray. If desired, the colors may be changed by editing the patch.

Install Konsole by running the following commands: 

mkdir build &&
cd    build &&

cmake -D CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=$KF6_PREFIX \
      -D CMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release         \
      -D BUILD_TESTING=OFF                \
      -W no-author .. &&
make

This package does not come with a test suite.

Now, as the root user: 

make install
